The Ness County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Monday, July 11, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Room. Chairman Sandra Y. Rupp called the meeting to order with Commissioner, Frederick P. Flax, and County Clerk Renee S. Kerr in attendance.
Mark Davis was also present for the meeting.
Minutes of the July 5, 2016 meeting were read and approved. Road and Bridge Road and Bridge/Landfill Supervisor Ron Johnson and Assistant Chlesae Braun reported on the weekly work schedule. John Riggins of Kirkham Michael was also present. $160.00 was taken in at the landfill as tipping fees June 28-July 2, 2016. 20 yards of rock was hauled to a washed out culvert. A construction permit was issued to Mike Kelso Oil. Permits are on file at the Road and Bridge Department. Road concerns were reviewed. Machinery maintenance was discussed. Riggins recommended letting for repair on a bridge. They also discussed other bridges within the County particularly off system bridge #63. Progress on the airport was discussed.
Emergency Preparedness Emergency Preparedness Director Crystal Podlena filed her work schedule for the past two weeks. She researched Emergency Management Justification documents, took pictures of storm damage, and met with KDEM, attended Continuity of Operations Planning training Podlena and the Commission discussed trainings that would be beneficial for County Employees.
Health Insurance BCBS Representatives Stephanie Buckman and Karol Roadhouse presented information regarding usage and budgeting for Health Insurance.
Accounts Payable checks and vouchers were reviewed and signed.
