The Ness County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Monday, October 17, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Room. Chairman Sandra Y. Rupp called the meeting to order with Commissioners, Frederick P. Flax, David L. Albers, and County Clerk Renee S. Kerr in attendance.
Others Present Mark Davis, Republican Nominee for Commissioner, was also present for the meeting.
Minutes: Minutes of the October 11, 2016 meeting were read and approved.
County Attorney: County Attorney Craig Crosswhite and the Commission discussed court activity, and the delinquent tax sale.
Road and Bridge: Road and Bridge/Landfill Supervisor Ron Johnson reported on the weekly work schedule. 1,440 yards of sand and 690 yards of dirt was hauled the past two weeks. Bridges, spraying, culverts and machinery maintenance were discussed. Road concerns were reviewed. Crossing Permits were issued to Golden Belt Telephone and Gabel Lease Service. Permits are on file at the Road and Bridge Department.
Emergency Preparedness: Emergency Preparedness Director Crystal Podlena met with the Commission. Podlena researched fire equipment, worked on ID cards completed a report for Pipeline Association and Fire Departments and also attended an Emergency Preparedness Exercise.
Executive Session Motion: Upon the motion of Albers, seconded by Flax, the Commission voted unanimously to go into executive session for a period of 10 minutes beginning at 11:43 a.m. for the discussion of nonelected personnel. (Albers, Flax, Rupp and Kerr in executive session).
Regular session resumed at 11:53 a.m.
Accounts Payable: Accounts Payable checks and vouchers were reviewed and signed.
