The Ness County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Monday, March 27, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Room. Chairman Sandra Y. Rupp called the meeting to order with Commissioners, Mark Davis, David L. Albers, and County Clerk Renee S. Kerr in attendance. Emergency Preparedness Travis Rothe and the Commission discussed the Emergency Preparedness position and the improvements they would like to see made. Road and Bridge Road and Bridge/Landfill Supervisor Ron Johnson and Assistant Supervisor L.D. Ochs filed weekly reports. $400.00 was received in tipping fees March 14-18, 2017. Johnson will ask for bids on mowers and flatbed trailers. Road concerns were reviewed. Machinery maintenance was discussed. County Attorney County Attorney Kevin Salzman and the Commission discussed the Bazine Road Maintenance Agreement, Salzman will work on changes that the Commission would like to make to the agreement. They also discussed Kansas statutes as they apply to the Ness City Airport Board. High Plains Mental Health High Plains Mental Health Representatives Walter Hill, Chris Dinkel, and Board Member Pamela Pavlu met with the Commission regarding the services High Plains Mental Health offers Ness County. Accounts Payable Accounts Payable checks and vouchers were reviewed and signed. Ransom Senior Center Ransom Senior Citizen Center Representative Yvonne Schmidt met with the Commission. They would like to have a computer to use for their records. The Commission explained that the County does not have money budgeted for such purchases, but would check to see if there is an old computer in the courthouse that would work.
