The Ness County Board of Commissioners met in regular session
Monday, October 2, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Room. Chairman Sandra Y. Rupp called the meeting to order with Commissioners, Mark Davis, David L. Albers and County Clerk Renee S. Kerr in attendance.
Minutes for the September 25, 2017 meeting were read and approved. Correspondence was reviewed and acknowledged.
Road and Bridge
Road and Bridge/Landfill Supervisor Ron Johnson and Assistant Supervisor L.D. Ochs filed weekly reports.
$80.00 was taken in as tipping fees September 19-23, 2017.
No sand, dirt, or rock was hauled last week due to the recent rains.
Johnson reported that there are no charges to the county for the impound of the stolen pickup that was found in California. The County may seek restitution from the man who took the pickup.
Replacement pickups were discussed.
Road conditions were reviewed.
Machinery maintenance was discussed.
The signing project and bridge inspections were discussed.
Emergency Preparedness Director Travis Rothe filed reports for the past several weeks. Rothe is updating and editing Essential Support Functions 1 and 3 of the Emergency Operations Plan, he contacted Mobile Radio regarding updating the Utica tornado siren, as well as updating the Emergency Preparedness computer with Microsoft Office software, the other laptop is being dedicated to the Credentialing System. He will install communication and mapping boards next week.
Rothe and the Commission discussed having a NIMS training for county employees.
Register of Deeds
The Commission visited the Register of Deeds Office, regarding a water problem in the vault. The Commission will look in to the problem, but in the mean time they suggested using a dehumidifier that was purchased to be used in that office and to turn up the ceiling fan speed.
The Commission reviewed and signed Daily Statements for Sept. 22 -Sept. 29, 2017.
The following changes were made to the 2016 tax roll: Abate: Personal Property-$1,080.06, Real Estate-$153.62, and Oil-$4,492.30.
