The Ness County Board of Commissioners met in regular session
Monday, November 6, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Room. Chairman Sandra Y. Rupp called the meeting to order with Commissioners, Mark Davis and County Clerk Renee S. Kerr in attendance.
Minutes for the October 30, 2017 meeting were read and approved. Correspondence was reviewed and acknowledged.
Road and Bridge
Road and Bridge/Landfill Supervisor Ron Johnson and Assistant Supervisor L.D. Ochs filed weekly reports.
$80.00 was taken in as tipping fees at the landfill October 24-28, 2017.
880 yards of sand and 800 yards of dirt was hauled last week.
Fuel bids were received for 1,500 gallons of gasoline, 3,000 gallons of Roadmaster Diesel, and 3,000 gallons of Fieldmaster Diesel. AV Energy-$17,101.35, Midland Marketing-$17,269.80, Nusser Fuels-$17,295.00 and Holly’s-$18,518.10.
Motion: Upon the motion of Rupp, seconded by Davis, the Commission voted to accept the low bid from AV Energy.
Construction permits were issued to Stewart Producers, Gabel Lease Service-Triple Crown, and Lockhart Geophysical.
Road conditions and concerns were reviewed.
Machinery maintenance was discussed.
Sheriff Bryan Whipple filed his activity reports for the month of October.
Ness County Community Development Foundation
Derek Reinhardt, President, and Joby Henning, Secretary of the Ness County Community Development Foundation met with the Commission regarding the possibility of a building donation that was offered to the Foundation.
A conference call was placed to KCAMP Attorney Bud Cowan. (Rupp, Davis and Kerr present for the call).
Motion: Upon the motion of Rupp, seconded by Davis, the Commission voted unanimously to go into executive session for a period of 10 minutes beginning at 10:52 a.m. for attorney client privilege. (Rupp, Davis and Cowan, by phone, in executive session). Regular session resumed at 11:02 a.m. No decisions were made.
