The Ness County Board of Commissioners met in special session Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Room. Chairman Sandra Y. Rupp called the meeting to order with Commissioners, Mark Davis, David L. Albers, and County Clerk Renee S. Kerr in attendance. Emergency Preparedness A conference call was placed to Layton Whipple. (Albers, Davis, Rupp and Kerr present for the call). The Emergency Preparedness Director position was discussed. Whipple and the Commission came to the agreement that the position would not be a good fit for him at this time. Motion: Upon the motion of Davis, seconded by Albers, the Commission voted unanimously to hire Travis Rothe, for the Emergency Preparedness Director position. The position will be full time at the hourly rate of $14.95 per hour. A conference call was placed to Travis Rothe. (Albers, Davis, Rupp and Kerr present for the call). Rothe and the Commission discussed some of the duties and he accepted the position.
